Hubert Oxford IV

Hubert Oxford IV leads the firm's landowner advocacy practice, representing Southeast Texas families and businesses in pipeline easement, carbon sequestration, and renewable energy negotiations. Over more than two decades, he has sat across the table from Chevron, ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions, Bayou Bend, and Oxy on behalf of his clients.

On the corporate-defense side, he serves as litigation counsel for major corporations in toxic-tort matters across the country. He also acts as general counsel for several Southeast Texas governmental entities, and is known for returning calls before the end of the day.

Joshua Heinz leads the firm's family and legacy practice, drafting wills and trusts, guiding executors through probate, establishing guardianships, and handling the commercial transactions and civil litigation that closely held businesses run into.

Clients work with him because he asks more questions than most attorneys, and answers them in language they can use. He also handles carbon sequestration easement work for landowners and serves as counsel to several governmental entities.

Frances Blair Bethea

Frances Bethea has been with Benckenstein & Oxford for 38 years, first as an associate, then as a partner, and now of counsel. She has been board-certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1989, a credential held by roughly 670 attorneys out of the more than 100,000 licensed in Texas, fewer than 1%.

Her work centers on estate planning, incapacity planning, trusts, probate administration, guardianship, business entity formation, and non-profit governance.
